"The Crow" by Ben Silver
As long and stagnant as I stood, I watched a seed, to sapling grow Into the largest in the wood- And perched atop it sat a Crow. “Corvid brother,” said I, cooing, “Have you nothing to take care of? Perhaps some business you need doing, Some mischief I am not aware of?” But even as clever as Crows can be, This one uttered no response. He crooked his neck and gazed...

Here’s the first multi-page story comic I’ve ever tried doing! First attempt at a romance comic, too. It was a big learning experience, and when it wasn’t completely frustrating it was a lot of fun to do. So put on a Roy Orbison or a Shangri-Las song and enjoy a quick read about some sad kids.
Oh my god. Just. Oh. So good.

I pretty much just live in my own world of cars I’ll never drive, and songs I’ll never sing.

When F. Scott Fitzgerald was 6 years old he had a birthday party to which nobody came. He waited on the porch all afternoon in his freshly pressed suit but nobody showed, so at last he went inside and ate his entire birthday cake, including several candles.
When someone tells me that .999… does not exactly equal one, I physically ache. It makes me nauseous.
When it happens in a mathematics class, I want to weep.
Nobody wants to be someone’s second choice but I’d do it for you.

I had been waiting for a few minutes, surveying the large room.
I saw you walking in.
I was going to walk over, but then I got nervous.
I got nervous, and I got flustered. My face must have burned crimson.
I pretended to be intent upon a painting, and forced myself to breathe.
I regained my composure, and I walked over.

The Struggle of Association
I consider myself Polymathic,
But somehow lacking as empathic.
My fellow man is mystery
My thoughts are never his to see-
Nor are his mine for reference.
I meet him with indifference.
Although, perhaps, as study goes
I’ll advance to know what he shows,
And then interpret properly
emotions he conveys to me.
